Briefly, how does the site work?

Sellers list their textbooks.
Buyers search for textbooks.
Buyers then contact sellers from the site by email (SMS and phone options coming soon) to arrange to transact. There are three ways to transact:

  1. meet on your campus,
  2. meet in the city, or
  3. United States Postal Service COD service.

The site doesn't handle textbooks or payment for textbooks.

How do seller and buyer exchange textbook and payment?

There are a couple of options for making the exchange.

  • meet during the day. You can meet on campus or at a local coffee shop. Exchanging mobile phone numbers makes it easier. So does being on time.
  • Mail textbook via USPS Collect on Delivery (COD)

Is my personal information safe?

Here at Textloop.com, we take privacy seriously. To protect your credit card information, we do not keep it on file. We only use your credit card information during the authorization period (usually less than ten seconds).

We also protect the identity of the seller by not sharing the seller's email address. All email sent to the seller is sent through Textloop.com and not the potential buyer's email package.

Search tips

  • Start with a broad search (few terms - maybe just the title key words), then narrow it down.
  • A lot of books listed don't have all the authors listed, so maybe just search the main author.
  • What edition do you want? You can save heaps more if you don't need the latest edition.
  • Some criteria aren't very useful. For example ISBN numbers seem to get mistyped or formatted with spaces or dashes all the time by sellers. Experiment with what works best for your search.

Is it safe to meet people in person?

You be the judge. If you’re not entirely comfortable, don’t.
It is probably best to meet during the day in a public place like a cafe and maybe take a friend and maybe get their mobile number before you meet. Or alternatively, use the USPS COD service.

What happens when my used books are sold?

Login to the site and delete the listing for the sold book. That way no one will email you wanting to buy it.

How do I edit my details and books listed?

Login to the Texloop.com Account Manager. From there you can view, update and delete your textbook listings. After listing a textbook, all fields can be updated.
